ONWARDS!!!1
Sep. 22nd, 2013 08:00 pmMy friend did the chicago renegade craft fair and I was able to help half of the day saturday and all day sunday. She makes Timid Monsters

monster paintings

We had to rotate with three of us so that there were always two people at the booth. Otherwise there wouldn't have been potty breaks or food runs.

Also down near the end of the street there was totally this guy set up inside a bus stop makin' teh musics. I was not bold enough to wait for him to see me taking a picture, and then he turned back into the "booth" so I didn't get an actual photo of him at all. Oh well, still a cool idea and execution.
Nearly mandatory work photo with the giant googly eyes we got sent with the fall decor items.
THEN

When you hear 105 feet, you go "oh that's big" and then we were going to cut it down to three 35ft chunks, makes it more manageable. ...tour buses, are 40 ft long, not as manageable as it sounds.
This ended up being a mural we did with kids from the area for a national kids volunteer day. I worked for 3 days to make this happen and then the very next day after getting super horrible sun burned on my face I set off for colorado...one of the sunniest places in the US.

where it had also just flooded majorly. My friend had been evacuated from their apartment (no water damage for them but their building is right next to this ragey creek) and were allowed back the saturday I was painting the mural.

took the train to denver where I spotted this while wandering around and it's now the background on my phone.

Denver is cool but right near by is this weird place called commerce city.

and then I took the bus to boulder where my friends lived. No biggie just mountains down the street.

They just recently adopted 4 baby rats (two sets of sisters). This one is named Nova. It was very cute and really fun to watch them interact with one another. They were still small, and I guess when they original came home were about the size of mice. Bebe ratties.

Boulder apparently has a sister city in India. They sent them this tea house. It's pretty amazing and everything is hand carved. Some extra seating was added, but there are also places set up with the cushions and other smaller traditional tables with chairs. Thankfully this place didn't really suffer much flood damage.

Bought myself a bell. It made of the best noises of all the ones like this.

Thursday I dogsat for - Beast dogs with the names of Gods!
Freya the goddess of breaking her leg because she likes to run away in the mountains and come back later, sometimes terribly broken
&
Loki, god of being a total derpity derp and then being shameful because he didn't know he shouldn't do that.
Loki is half german shepherd and half malamute and total wheel dog. Freya is built like the racing huskies, even though she is suppose to be part shepherd too. Her body shape is nearly exactly like that of the huskies. One at a time they will walk with me perfectly well behaved, both at once though and I have to cross their leashes and run them like a team of horses. Problem is only Freya knows left and right...
Bonus points? They're dog aggressive! I think my arms nearly fell off. They would go from laying in the grass like this to sudden-death. Thankfully they never reached anyone, and that I am awesome with dogs like this. My body was not pleased the next day.

Booked my flight going the wrong direction and didn't notice until the last minute. So I canceled it and just took the train home. Got home in time to eat chili and go up to my room. I've emptied out all my old not fitting clothes and my drawers are much emptier, but I feel better. Now to de-clutter my desk. But first maybe sleeping...
