and then things happened!
Feb. 18th, 2012 10:25 pmso after closing at work, I had to be in the city (at least a 35 min drive, if there were no other cars anywhere) at 8:30 in the morning. The problem being if there is traffic it could take 2 hours to get in. Then after interviewing for this job I want, same company different store different job, I had to get back out of the city and start my regular job again at 12:30.
While I was there the other store called and, then ended up calling back to let me know I got the job! I got paid more, though not as much as I was hoping for, but I also got full time and a secondary job I also wanted to do!
By the end of the night though I was totally out of it after all the stress of the day. Then I found out that they had emailed that I got the job, around the region and the two stores and all the other people with my job in the region. It made it seem much more of a big deal than I thought it should be.
I'm going to be an assistant signmaker, so I do all the production signs that say how much stuff costs, but I also help with the chalk boards and stuff. So after graduating in 2009 with a degree in graphic design, I finally have a job that I like at a company I enjoy working for that is within my degree field.
On top of it I already had a vacation scheduled for next week into the one after so my 2 weeks notice is mostly me being in florida!
speaking of that. I intend to be majorly retired. I plan to read books and newspapers, play cards, eat things like all the citrus and strawberries I can handle, and KNIT!
I have two baby blankets to make, 2 hats, and two sets of mittens. With the hats I hope to do my first design in another color. I also watched a youtube video on doing things the magic loop style in the round. Its kind of strange because I figure you could do the same thing with three DPN I think... I have yet to try it. But it would really solve the issue of things falling off my needles.
I will probably crochet the baby blankets. I don't think anyone makes stuff like this anymore for people. I don't particularly want to be the one to do it, but I think someone should and I generally like the people I would be giving them to. Plus they would be super excited to get one, so thats a good enough reason for me to sit around and make one.
if anyone has some favorites with free patterns (or a scan) I'm all up for suggestions.
work tomorrow morning at 8:30 and then out with people possibly and on monday I go into the city with all my stuff and explore stores with another friend and then off to a third friend's house to sleep over so we can catch the 6am flight to florida. crazy crazy straight into vacay.
